A simple recipe for a warm apple crisp made without dairy or gluten.

- 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup gluten-free rolled oats
- 1/2 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cold vegan butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and cinnamon. Place the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the gluten-free oats, gluten-free flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and nutmeg.
- Cut in the cold vegan butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Let the crisp cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can use any firm apple variety for this recipe, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream if desired.
