- 1 bag tortilla chips
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 can refried beans
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
- Sour cream, for serving
- Salsa, for serving
- Guacamole, for serving
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain grease.
- Add taco seasoning and water according to packet directions. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spread tortilla chips on a large baking sheet.
- Spread refried beans over the chips.
- Top with seasoned ground beef.
- Sprinkle cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the beef.
- Add chopped onion, bell pepper, black olives, and jalapeños.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve immediately with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole.
Notes
- For spicier nachos, add extra jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the ground beef.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
- Other toppings to consider include corn, pico de gallo, or shredded lettuce.
