Description
A straightforward recipe for Turkish-style pasta, similar to Manti, served with a simple yogurt and spiced butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Mix flour, egg, water, and salt to form a stiff dough. Knead for 5 minutes.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll the dough very thin, about 1/16 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into small squares, about 1 inch by 1 inch.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta squares and cook until they float and are tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- While pasta cooks, melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Stir in the paprika and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Remove from heat.
- In a small bowl, mix the yogurt and minced garlic.
- Drain the cooked pasta. Place the pasta in a serving bowl.
- Spoon the garlic yogurt over the pasta.
- Drizzle the spiced butter evenly over the yogurt. Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use store-bought wonton wrappers if you prefer not to make the dough from scratch.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of dried mint to the butter sauce.
