Description

A simple recipe for homemade apple cranberry sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Combine cranberries, apples, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the orange zest.
  5. Cool completely before serving. The sauce will thicken more as it cools.
