Description
A flavorful fusion of taco seasoning and spaghetti, creating a quick and satisfying weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 8 ounces spaghetti, broken into pieces
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until the meat is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, diced tomatoes (undrained), tomato sauce, and water. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the broken spaghetti pieces to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Cover the skillet and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the spaghetti is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Serve hot, with your favorite taco toppings if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a diced jalapeño with the onions.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
- Adjust the amount of water if you prefer a saucier or thicker consistency.
