  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 ounces spaghetti, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until the meat is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning, diced tomatoes (undrained), tomato sauce, and water. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the broken spaghetti pieces to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover the skillet and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the spaghetti is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
