- 1 cup milk
- 8 ounces processed cheese (like Velveeta), cubed

- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring.
- Reduce heat to low. Add cubed processed cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Stir continuously until cheese is completely melted and sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- For a thinner sauce, add a little more milk until desired consistency is reached.
- Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
