Ingredients

- 1 kg chicken pieces
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1/4 cup water
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, chili flakes, and black pepper for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken pieces until browned on all sides.
- Add brown sugar and water to the pan.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
- Uncover and simmer for another 5-10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- Adjust chili flakes for desired spice level.
- For a deeper flavor, marinate chicken overnight.
- Can be served with rice.
