Description
A simple recipe for homemade granola featuring honey and orange flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup mixed nuts and seeds (almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins or cranberries, added after baking)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, nuts, seeds, and shredded coconut.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the honey, orange juice, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients. Stir well until everything is evenly coated.
- Spread the granola mixture in a single, even layer onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the granola is golden brown and fragrant.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet. The granola will crisp up as it cools.
- Once cool, stir in the dried fruit. Store in an airtight container.
Notes
- For a crunchier granola, press the mixture down firmly before baking.
- Adjust the amount of honey if you prefer a sweeter or less sweet granola.
- You can substitute maple syrup for honey to make this recipe vegan.
