- 1 cup white rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 ounces sirloin steak, cut into small cubes
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup prepared queso cheese sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the rice according to package directions using 2 cups of water.
- While the rice cooks, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the cubed steak to the skillet.
- Sprinkle the steak with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the steak until browned and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Place a serving of cooked rice in a bowl.
- Top the rice with the seasoned steak pieces.
- Pour the warm queso cheese sauce over the steak and rice.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
Notes
- You can use pre-cooked rice to save time.
- Adjust the amount of chili powder for your preferred spice level.
