Description

A simple recipe for rice topped with seasoned steak pieces and melted queso cheese sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces sirloin steak, cut into small cubes
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup prepared queso cheese sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package directions using 2 cups of water.
  2. While the rice cooks, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the cubed steak to the skillet.
  4. Sprinkle the steak with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook the steak until browned and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  6. Place a serving of cooked rice in a bowl.
  7. Top the rice with the seasoned steak pieces.
  8. Pour the warm queso cheese sauce over the steak and rice.
  9. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
