Description
Crispy baked cauliflower bites coated in a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together.
- Dip each cauliflower floret first into the wet mixture, letting excess drip off, then dredge thoroughly in the dry flour mixture.
- Place the coated florets on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and tender.
- While the cauliflower bakes, prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the honey, hot sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Heat over low heat until warm and well combined. Do not boil.
- Remove the baked cauliflower from the oven. Place the hot florets in a large bowl.
- Pour the hot honey glaze over the cauliflower and toss gently until all pieces are evenly coated.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can spray the coated florets lightly with cooking spray before the first bake.
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the spice level of the glaze.
