- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract and orange extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in orange zest.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat.
- Place cookies 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are set.
- Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Do not overbake the cookies to keep them soft and chewy.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
