Description

A tender and flavorful pot roast made in the slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 3 pound beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, combine beef broth, chopped onion, carrots, celery, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Pour the mixture over the roast.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef is tender.
  5. Shred the beef and serve with the vegetables and cooking liquid.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, you can mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir it into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
