Description

A refreshing and easy-to-make red wine sangria perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (like Tempranillo or Garnacha)
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda, chilled
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, orange juice, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the sliced orange, lemon, lime, and chopped apple to the pitcher.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Just before serving, add the chilled sparkling water or club soda.
  5. Serve over ice.

Notes

  • For a sweeter sangria, add more sugar to taste.
  • You can substitute other fruits like berries, peaches, or pears.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, use grape juice or cranberry juice instead of wine and omit the brandy and orange liqueur.
