Description
A refreshing and easy-to-make red wine sangria perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (like Tempranillo or Garnacha)
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1 apple, chopped
- 1 cup sparkling water or club soda, chilled
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, orange juice, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the sliced orange, lemon, lime, and chopped apple to the pitcher.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Just before serving, add the chilled sparkling water or club soda.
- Serve over ice.
Notes
- For a sweeter sangria, add more sugar to taste.
- You can substitute other fruits like berries, peaches, or pears.
- For a non-alcoholic version, use grape juice or cranberry juice instead of wine and omit the brandy and orange liqueur.
