Description

A quick recipe for creamy, cooked spinach using frozen ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the squeezed, dry spinach to the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream. Stir to combine.
  4. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly and the spinach is heated through.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Squeeze as much water out of the thawed spinach as possible for a thicker sauce.
  • You can substitute milk for heavy cream for a lighter sauce, but the texture will be thinner.
