Ingredients

  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef and sliced onion to the marinade. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the marinated beef and onions to the hot pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Stir in the chopped green onions during the last minute of cooking.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
