Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices thick-cut bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Butter for cooking
  • For the Praline Sauce:
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, granulated sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract in a shallow dish.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the bread slices for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  5. While the French toast cooks, prepare the praline sauce: In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream.
  6. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in pecans and vanilla extract.
  8. Serve the French toast warm, drizzled with the praline sauce.

Notes
