- For the Praline Sauce:
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Whisk together eggs, milk, granulated sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract in a shallow dish.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the bread slices for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- While the French toast cooks, prepare the praline sauce: In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in pecans and vanilla extract.
- Serve the French toast warm, drizzled with the praline sauce.
Notes
- Use challah or brioche bread for the best texture.
- Adjust pumpkin pie spice to your preference.
- For a thicker sauce, simmer for an additional minute or two.
