Ingredients

Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil and cook without stirring until syrup is amber colored.
- Remove from heat and stir in pecans and vanilla extract.
- Stir in baking soda rapidly.
- Pour mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Spread thinly and let cool completely.
- Break into pieces.
