Description

A refreshing beverage made with pear, ginger, lemon, and thyme.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the chopped pears, sliced ginger, water, and thyme sprigs in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it steep for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract all the juice. Discard the solids.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice and sweetener, if using.
  7. Chill the drink completely before serving.
  8. Serve over ice.
