Description
A refreshing beverage made with pear, ginger, lemon, and thyme.
Ingredients

- 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the chopped pears, sliced ginger, water, and thyme sprigs in a saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it steep for an additional 10 minutes.
- Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract all the juice. Discard the solids.
- Stir in the lemon juice and sweetener, if using.
- Chill the drink completely before serving.
- Serve over ice.
Notes
- For a stronger ginger flavor, increase the amount of ginger used.
- You can adjust the sweetness to your preference.
- This drink is good served warm as a tea substitute.
