Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour the batter into a squeeze bottle or a piping bag with a small round tip.
- Carefully squeeze the batter into the hot oil in a circular or random pattern to create small cakes.
- Fry for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the funnel cake bites with a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack set over paper towels to drain.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- You can add cinnamon to the dry ingredients for a spiced flavor.
- Serve warm for the best texture.
