Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, and egg. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Place meatballs in a slow cooker. Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs. Add water.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, or on high for 1.5-2 hours, until meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Serve hot, spooning sauce over the meatballs.
