Instructions

  1. Toss sliced strawberries with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and lemon juice. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a shallow dish, combine cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
  4. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are moistened but not soggy.
  5. Arrange half of the dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
