Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cranberry juice
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine apple cider, cranberry juice, orange slices, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, and ground allspice in a large saucepan.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it simmers. Do not boil.
  3. If using, stir in brown sugar until dissolved.
  4. Reduce heat to low and let it steep for 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Remove the orange slices and cinnamon stick before serving.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a stronger spice flavor, increase the amount of whole cloves slightly.
  • You can substitute fresh orange slices with 1/4 cup of orange zest.
