Description

Simple recipe for salmon fillets coated in a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub them with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down if applicable.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika to create the glaze.
  4. Brush half of the glaze mixture evenly over the top of the salmon fillets.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove the salmon from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the hot fillets.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can broil the salmon for the last minute after glazing to caramelize the sauce slightly.
  • Use your preferred type of hot sauce, such as sriracha or a cayenne-based sauce.
  • If you do not have apple cider vinegar, white vinegar works as a substitute.
