Hawaiian Huli Huli Chicken is a flavorful grilled chicken dish marinated in a sweet and savory sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken, cut into 8 pieces
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, honey, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- Place chicken pieces in a large resealable bag or bowl. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove chicken from the marinade, discarding the excess marinade.
- Grill chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through and juices run clear. Baste with additional marinade during the last few minutes of grilling if desired.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Adjust red pepper flakes for desired heat level.
- Pineapple rings can be grilled alongside the chicken.
