Description
A simple recipe for making seasoned ground turkey tacos.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 12 taco shells (hard or soft)
- Toppings: lettuce, shredded cheese, salsa, sour cream
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Add ground turkey to the skillet. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning mix and water.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has mostly evaporated and the meat is well coated.
- Warm taco shells according to package directions.
- Spoon the turkey mixture into the taco shells.
- Add your desired toppings.
Notes
- You can substitute your favorite homemade taco seasoning blend for the packet.
- For extra flavor, add 1/4 cup of drained canned black beans with the meat.
