Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Press half of the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  8. Spread the remaining dough evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  10. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

  • For extra gooeyness, slightly underbake the bars.
