Description
A recipe for pasta tossed with seasoned steak, garlic butter, and Cajun spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 8 ounces fettuccine or linguine pasta
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (or to taste)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup pasta water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water before draining.
- Season steak pieces generously with salt, pepper, and half of the Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook until browned and cooked to your desired doneness, about 3-5 minutes per side. Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the remaining Cajun seasoning and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens slightly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water.
- Add the cooked pasta and the cooked steak back into the skillet. Toss everything to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute sirloin with ribeye or filet mignon for different flavor profiles.
- Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning based on your preference for heat.
- For a richer sauce, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream, though it may be thinner.
