Description

A traditional pecan pie recipe with a sweet, gooey filling and a flaky crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until combined.
  4. Stir in the pecan halves.
  5. Pour the filling mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
  6. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the center is mostly set but still slightly jiggly.
  7. Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • If the crust edges start to brown too quickly, cover them loosely with aluminum foil during baking.
  • You can toast the pecans lightly before adding them to the filling for a deeper flavor.
