- 1 baguette
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 small apple, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces goat cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
- Slice the baguette diagonally into half-inch thick pieces.
- Brush both sides of the bread slices lightly with olive oil.
- Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until lightly golden and crisp.
- Remove the crostini from the oven.
- Spread a small amount of softened goat cheese on each warm crostini.
- Top each with a few thin apple slices.
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the cheese and apple.
- Drizzle lightly with honey and garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute brie or cream cheese for goat cheese if desired.
- For crispier bacon, cook it in a skillet until done.
- Use a mandoline for very thin apple slices.
