- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups Swiss chard, chopped
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Add chopped Swiss chard to the skillet. Cook until wilted, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a bowl, combine the cooled Swiss chard mixture, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Pour the filling into the pie crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can add other cheeses like Gruyere or mozzarella for extra flavor.
- A pinch of nutmeg can enhance the taste of the filling.
- Ensure the Swiss chard is well-drained if it releases a lot of liquid.
