- 6 cups sliced fresh peaches
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss to coat the peaches evenly.
- Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another small bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peaches in the baking dish.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the batter.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- You can use frozen peaches if fresh peaches are not available. Thaw them first and drain any excess liquid.
- Adjust the sugar to your sweetness preference.
