Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss to coat the peaches evenly.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. In another small bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
  6. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Pour the batter evenly over the peaches in the baking dish.
  8. Drizzle the melted butter over the batter.
  9. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  10. Let it cool slightly before serving.
