  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a slow cooker.
  3. Arrange the thinly sliced onion over the top of the meatloaf.
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  5. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese over the meatloaf.
  6. Cover and continue cooking until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Carefully remove the meatloaf from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
