Description
A recipe for making sweet potato fries crispy using an oven.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Do not peel them.
- Cut the sweet potatoes into fry shapes, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
- Place the cut sweet potatoes in a large bowl.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the sweet potatoes and toss to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle the salt, pepper, and paprika over the potatoes and toss again until seasoned.
- Spread the sweet potato fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Flip the fries carefully.
- Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and the centers are tender.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before drying them thoroughly.
- If your fries are not browning evenly, you can switch the rack position halfway through cooking.
