Description

A recipe for making sweet potato fries crispy using an oven.


Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Do not peel them.
  3. Cut the sweet potatoes into fry shapes, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Place the cut sweet potatoes in a large bowl.
  5. Drizzle the olive oil over the sweet potatoes and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the salt, pepper, and paprika over the potatoes and toss again until seasoned.
  7. Spread the sweet potato fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Flip the fries carefully.
  10. Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and the centers are tender.
  11. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before drying them thoroughly.
  • If your fries are not browning evenly, you can switch the rack position halfway through cooking.
