  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In another shallow dish, whisk the eggs and milk.
  4. Dip each chicken piece first into the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off, then dredge it thoroughly in the flour mixture, pressing to coat.
  5. Place the coated chicken on a wire rack and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the coating to adhere.
  6. In a large, heavy skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  7. Carefully place a few chicken pieces into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the skillet.
  8. Fry the chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  9. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a clean wire rack to drain excess oil.
  10. Repeat with the remaining chicken pieces.
