Description

A simple recipe for a crispy chicken sandwich featuring Caesar dressing and romaine lettuce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • 1 cup Caesar dressing
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to create four thin cutlets.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. In a second shallow dish, whisk the egg and milk.
  4. In a third shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Dredge each chicken cutlet first in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  6. Dip the floured cutlet into the egg mixture, letting excess drip off.
  7. Coat the cutlet thoroughly in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
  8. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Carefully place chicken cutlets in the hot oil, frying for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
  10. Remove chicken from oil and place on a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  11. Lightly toast the sandwich buns, if desired.
  12. Assemble the sandwiches: spread Caesar dressing on both halves of each bun.
  13. Place one crispy chicken cutlet on the bottom bun.
  14. Top the chicken with chopped romaine lettuce and grated Parmesan cheese.
  15. Place the top bun on the sandwich.
  16. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can bake the chicken instead of frying; bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Use your favorite store-bought or homemade Caesar dressing.
