- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups cooked bowtie pasta
- 4 ounces Velveeta cheese, cubed
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in minced garlic, diced tomatoes and green chilies, tomato sauce, and water.
- Add chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the Velveeta cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or corn.
- Adjust the chili powder for desired spice level.
- For a richer flavor, use beef broth instead of water.
