  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 ounces rigatoni pasta

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Pour in the beef broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. While the sauce simmers, cook the rigatoni pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta.
  8. Stir the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese into the beef sauce until smooth.
  9. Add the drained rigatoni to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
  10. Serve immediately.

  • For a thicker sauce, simmer uncovered for a few extra minutes before adding the cream.
