Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Cooked egg noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add the olive oil to the skillet. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the mushrooms are browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Season the beef and vegetable mixture with salt and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
  6. Gradually whisk in the beef broth until smooth. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  7. Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the sour cream and chopped parsley until well combined.
  8. Serve the stroganoff over cooked egg noodles.
