Description
A baked brie wrapped in flaky puff pastry with cranberry and pecan filling.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 8 ounces brie cheese, rind removed
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into a square large enough to wrap the brie.
- Place the brie wheel in the center of the pastry.
- In a small bowl, mix the dried cranberries, chopped pecans, and brown sugar. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the brie.
- Fold the edges of the puff pastry up and over the brie, sealing the seams tightly to fully enclose the cheese. Trim any excess pastry. Place the wrapped brie seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the entire surface of the pastry with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Let the pastry cool for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh cranberries mixed with a little sugar if you prefer.
- Serve with crackers or apple slices for dipping.
