Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made graham cracker crust (9 inch)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup whipped topping (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Beat the heavy cream in a large bowl until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract into the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Sift the cocoa powder over the cream cheese mixture and beat until fully combined and smooth.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate cream cheese mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Spread half of the chocolate cream mixture into the bottom of the graham cracker crust.
  7. Spoon the entire can of cherry pie filling evenly over the chocolate layer.
  8. Top with the remaining chocolate cream mixture, spreading it to cover the cherries.
  9. Chill the pie for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  10. Garnish with whipped topping before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • You can make your own graham cracker crust if you prefer.
  • Chill the mixing bowl and beaters before whipping the heavy cream for best results.
