Description

A simple recipe for homemade chocolate almond milk.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or other sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Soak almonds in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain and rinse the almonds.
  3. Combine soaked almonds and 3 cups of fresh water in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  4. Strain the almond milk through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl. Discard the pulp or save for other uses.
  5. Return the almond milk to the blender. Add cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla extract, and salt.
  6. Blend until well combined and smooth.
  7. Pour into a sealed container and refrigerate.

Notes

  • For a thicker milk, use less water.
  • Adjust sweetener to your preference.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
