A simple recipe for homemade chocolate almond milk.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 3 cups water
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or other sweetener
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Soak almonds in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain and rinse the almonds.
- Combine soaked almonds and 3 cups of fresh water in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the almond milk through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl. Discard the pulp or save for other uses.
- Return the almond milk to the blender. Add cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Blend until well combined and smooth.
- Pour into a sealed container and refrigerate.
Notes
- For a thicker milk, use less water.
- Adjust sweetener to your preference.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
