Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the butter foams and brown bits form at the bottom, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cooled brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Stir in the toasted pecans.
  7. Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  9. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
