Description

Simple recipe for baked appetizer sticks filled with taco meat and cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain fat.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning mix and water. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  4. Lay a tortilla flat. Sprinkle one edge with a mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.
  5. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the cooled taco meat mixture over the cheese.
  6. Fold the tortilla over the filling to create a log shape. Press the edges firmly to seal.
  7. Place the sealed stick seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  9. Cut each log into 3 or 4 pieces before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with salsa or sour cream for dipping.
  • You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
