Scale
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Spread the butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of both bread halves.
- Place the bread halves, butter-side up, on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove the bread from the oven and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over both halves.
- Return the bread to the oven and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Slice into individual servings before serving.
Notes
- You can use pre-minced garlic if you prefer.
- Use your favorite shredded cheese blend instead of just mozzarella.
- For extra crispiness, broil for the last minute, watching carefully to prevent burning.
