Cheesy Ground Beef Potatoes Casserole

Description

A simple casserole combining ground beef, potatoes, and cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix the soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir this mixture into the beef and onion.
  5. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Pour half of the beef mixture over the potatoes. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and cheese.
  8. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup for cream of mushroom soup if desired.
  • For crispier edges, bake uncovered for the last 10 minutes.
