Description
A simple casserole combining ground beef, potatoes, and cheese.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir this mixture into the beef and onion.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour half of the beef mixture over the potatoes. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and cheese.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of chicken soup for cream of mushroom soup if desired.
- For crispier edges, bake uncovered for the last 10 minutes.
