Description
Savory and sweet chicken wings glazed with a brown sugar and pineapple sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, ketchup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the brown sugar dissolves. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Place the seasoned chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the wings from the oven and brush them generously with the prepared sauce.
- Return the wings to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through and the sauce is caramelized, flipping and basting halfway through.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For crispier wings, bake them uncovered for the first 20 minutes, then add the sauce.
- You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a little heat.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
