Description
A coffee beverage combining the flavors of brown butter, maple syrup, and cookie spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 shot espresso
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1/4 cup hot water (optional, for Americano style)
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Cook until the butter foams and brown bits form at the bottom, creating a nutty aroma. Remove from heat immediately.
- Pour the brown butter into your mug.
- Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the mug. Stir briefly.
- Brew your espresso shot directly into the mug, or combine the espresso with hot water for an Americano style.
- Heat the milk until hot but not boiling. You can steam it or heat it on the stovetop.
- Froth the milk if desired.
- Pour the hot milk over the espresso mixture in the mug.
- Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
Notes
- Use whole milk for a richer foam.
- For a stronger coffee flavor, use two shots of espresso.
- You can top this drink with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon if you wish.
