Description

Simple recipe for salmon fillets coated in a sweet and savory bourbon glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the brown sugar dissolves completely. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Brush the tops and sides of the salmon fillets generously with half of the bourbon glaze.
  6. Place the salmon on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  8. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the remaining glaze over the salmon.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute maple syrup for the brown sugar if you prefer a different sweetness level.
  • If you do not wish to use bourbon, substitute with an equal amount of apple juice or chicken broth.
  • For extra flavor, broil the salmon for the last minute, watching closely to prevent burning.
