Black Pepper Beef Stir Fry

Description

A quick and flavorful beef stir fry featuring a strong black pepper sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Toss the sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  3. Add beef and stir fry until browned. Remove beef from the wok and set aside.
  4. Add onion and bell pepper to the wok. Stir fry for 3 minutes until slightly tender.
  5. Add garlic and ginger. Stir fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, 2 tbsp soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and black pepper.
  7. Pour the sauce mixture into the wok. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 1 minute.
  8. Return the beef to the wok. Toss to coat everything in the sauce.
  9. Stir in sesame oil. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve this dish over steamed white rice or noodles.
  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger.
