- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices cooked, crumbled bacon
- 1 bag (about 32 ounces) frozen tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef and onion, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the beef mixture.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese and bacon.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
- Let the casserole stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of cheddar soup for cream of mushroom soup for a stronger cheese flavor.
- Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture for extra depth of flavor.
